5th gastronomic event at the Baserri Antzoki in Derio
Last Friday, February 14th, we fell in love once again with the EMAITZA team, who organized a most memorable evening at the Baserri Antzoki in Derio. A space of the most welcoming and surely the most beautiful place in which the group has worked in these five months of events.
Thursday, 13th February
The women of EMAITZA were accompanied by Marta and Garbi, two components and excellent workers of Sustraiak Catering. They worked together and the truth is, it couldn’t have gone better
The girls worked from the morning on the preparation of the sauces that would accompany the next day’s pintxos and poached the vegetables with great care so that they would have almost everything ready when they had to finish preparing the dishes.
Friday, February 14th
Around 1pm, EMAITZA and Sustraiak Catering returned to the kitchen of Baserri Antzoki to finish the menu, which, by the way, what do you think?
Around 5pm Leire and Saioa from Errotik arrived to organise, clean, decorate the room and do the sound check. They came with kitchen jackets and tablecloths by Mari Makeda, a project promoted by the Askabide Association “with an exclusive and different line of clothing made with African fabrics brought from Senegal, designed by local designers and made by women from the entity”.
At about 7 pm the first plates of appetizers were already placed at the bar and the guests entered the txoko, where Leire, Carmen, Marta and Garbi presented this fifth event and those present tried the winter pates, with crack and carrot pieces.
They went to the assembly hall where the and attendees asked for the first drink and after the presentation of Leire, Loide All explained with his performance in which John, “His John” and artichokes were very present. Eskerrik asko for filling the space, as always, with laughter and for creating that bubble in which nobody remembers the life outside. This woman manages to trap us in her show and no one can ever take their eyes off her.
Can you imagine for a moment, the pleasure of tasting such elaborate pintxos, some vegetarian and many vegan, with jazz as sweet as Lo Sodes? The joy of its notes and melodies are an explosion of flavors with the mixture of the cooks’ pintxos. Don’t you know Lo Sodes? Relax, you have the option of seeing him live tomorrow, February 21, at Bilborock and organized by Zinegoak at 20:00 with the screening of the documentary Lesbofòbia, a documentary i deu respostes and the debate to address this issue.
Around 11pm the event ended and the space was left empty. We all left with the feeling that we were still doing something great, something wonderful and worthy of so much work and effort.
Let the rhythm not stop
